This Privacy Policy explains what information Petzly collects, how we use and share it, and the choices you have when you use the Petzly app, this website, and related services.

1. Who we are

Petzly is a mobile app for creating AI-generated videos and images from pet photos and sharing them in a community feed. In this policy, “Petzly,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to Petzly. You can reach us at support@petzly.app.

2. Scope of this policy

This policy covers the Petzly mobile app, this website, and related services. It does not cover third-party sites or services we link to, or Apple’s and Google’s own platform services, which have their own privacy policies.

3. Information we collect

We collect information you give us and information created when you use Petzly:

  • Contact info: your name and email address from the Google or Apple account you sign in with, plus the username and profile details you add.
  • User content: pet photos you upload, generated videos and images, drafts, captions, comments, and posts.
  • Identifiers: your Petzly account ID and, if you allow it, your device’s advertising identifier.
  • Purchases: subscription status, credit balance, and purchase history, processed through Apple, Google, and RevenueCat.
  • Usage data: limited usage events, such as how many creations and downloads you make, if you turn on optional usage analytics; and ad interaction data.
  • Diagnostics: crash reports, performance data, and technical logs that keep the app stable. This data is not linked to your name or email address.

4. Photos, videos, and AI generation

To create a video or image, Petzly sends the pet photo and theme you choose to our AI generation and storage providers. Do not upload content unless you have the right to use it.

Your creations are stored in your account so you can view drafts, download media, or try again. They stay private unless you post them. When you post to the community feed, other Petzly users can see that post.

5. How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, secure, and improve Petzly.
  • Create, store, and display your creations and community feed posts.
  • Sign you in with Google or Apple.
  • Process purchases, credits, subscriptions, and entitlement checks.
  • Show ads and measure their performance.
  • Send service messages, notifications, and support replies.
  • Review reports, enforce our Terms, detect abuse, and prevent fraud.
  • Understand app performance and, if you opt in, how features are used.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on performing our contract with you, our legitimate interest in running and securing Petzly, your consent (for example, for ad tracking, usage analytics, and push notifications), and our legal obligations.

6. Advertising and Google AdMob

Free-tier accounts may see ads served by Google AdMob, which help keep Petzly free to download.

On iPhone, AdMob can use your device’s advertising identifier to personalize ads and measure them across other companies’ apps and websites only if you allow it in Apple’s App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Saying no never blocks creating, purchasing, or any other core feature.

On Android, you can delete or reset your advertising ID in your device’s Google settings under Ads. Google processes advertising data under its own privacy policy.

7. Usage analytics

Usage analytics is off until you turn it on. If you opt in under Settings > Privacy in the app, Petzly sends limited usage events, such as creation and download counts, to PostHog, linked to your account. Photos, videos, screen recordings, and text you type are never included. You can turn it off at any time, and your choice does not affect any feature.

8. Service providers

We use these providers to run Petzly. Each processes information under its own terms:

  • Clerk: sign-in and account management.
  • Apple, Google, and RevenueCat: app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and credits.
  • Google AdMob: in-app advertising.
  • PostHog: optional usage analytics.
  • Sentry: crash reporting and diagnostics. Sentry does not receive your name or email address.
  • OneSignal: push notifications.
  • FAL.ai: AI video and image generation.
  • Cloudflare and Cloudflare R2: hosting, media storage, delivery, and security.

9. When we share information

We share information with the providers above when needed to run Petzly, to comply with the law, to protect rights and safety, as part of a business transfer, or when you ask us to, such as when you post to the community feed.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your private, unposted photos for advertising.

10. Notifications

If you allow push notifications, Petzly may send account, creation, social, or service notifications through OneSignal. You can change notification permissions in your device settings. We may also reply to support requests by email.

11. Retention and deletion

We keep information for as long as we need it to provide Petzly, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and keep the service secure.

You can delete your account from Settings in the app. This permanently deletes your account, creations, uploaded photos, and posts. Some information may remain in backups or logs for a limited time, or longer where the law requires it. Deleting your account does not cancel a store subscription; manage it in the App Store or Google Play.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

If you are in Türkiye, you have the rights listed in Article 11 of the Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR and may complain to your local data protection authority.

To use any of these rights, email support@petzly.app. You can also manage ad tracking, analytics, and notification choices in the app and in your device settings.

13. Children

Petzly is not intended for children under 13, and the app is rated for ages 13 and up. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we will review it and take appropriate action.

14. International processing

Petzly and its providers may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

15. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

16. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to let you know, such as updating the date above or showing a notice in the app.
